NUTRITION & You

Our health is far more dependent on our daily actions and choices them most people think. There is a lack of education in how the human body functions and only a simple emphasis on portion control which is really a small factor to the health and obesity epidemic that we face today.

Learning how nutrition affects our body and is directly connected to our long-term health, I believe is one of the most empowering and necessary topics for a quality life.

To comprehend this connection we first have to understand that we have very little control over the biochemical processes that take place after we swallow our food, drink our liquids, take a breath in, or post exposure to our environment. However, we do have a lot of control over what we swallow, drink, breathe in, or expose ourselves to.

This reality and truth give us a great responsibility to ourselves and our state of health. The human body is made entirely of the food we eat, water, air, and light. The phrase ‘we are what we eat’ is not just a clever made up comment to get our children, family or co-workers to feel guilty about their moments of binge eating and weight gain. It’s a true physiological and biological reality we all live by constantly. Everything we eat, drink, breath and expose ourselves to directly affect and creates our cells. Our cells need specific vitamins and minerals to perform and manage all the bodies systems. Our constant 80 years + of function and survival are maintained by these vitamins and minerals.

Ultimately the quality of our health and the length of our lifespan come down to our daily choices.

Don’t underestimate the power of nutrition and the impact it has on your body. Nutrition is the key to a vitality-filled life.
